The research project “Zukunftslabor Südwestfalen 2020” funded by ERDF is approaching completion. With 2018 being the third and last funding year, it is time to take stock of the project: More than 600 participants took part in 20 free workshops so far, gaining new insights about website development, search engine optimization (SEO), social media, online advertising, local shopping platforms, brand strategy, or POS technology. Noteworthy: the intense four-hour sessions attracted unanimously positive responses from participating merchants and stakeholders. Average marks obtained by workshops held in 2018 were approximately 1.5 (with a scale from 1 – 5, and very satisfied – not satisfied at all, respectively). The positive feedback is confirmed by the fact that after getting in contact with “Zukunftslabor Südwestfalen 2020” 38% of all participants decided to take part in the project on a long-term basis.
Comprehensive guidelines dealing with the aforementioned topics were also published and can be accessed on the webpage www.ccec-online.de/localcommerce.
